The Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deported 23 Chinese nationals connected to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and cyber fraud.
The deportees were sent back to China on a Philippine Airlines flight bound for Shanghai. Authorities reported that they were involved in unlawful gaming operations and online scams, and many had criminal records in their home country.
This move is part of the government’s intensified campaign to dismantle illegal offshore gaming hubs. It also reflects the enforcement of the Anti-POGO Law, which grants authorities greater powers to shut down illegal gaming networks involved in fraud, human trafficking, and other related crimes.
