TESDA Urges Tech‑Voc Schools to Offer Stackable Micro‑Credential Courses

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is calling on technical‑vocational (tech‑voc) training institutions across the country to register and offer micro‑credential courses. These programs are designed to be modular, quickly stackable, and aligned with both industry needs and national certification standards.

TESDA Director General Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez said micro‑credentialing offers a more flexible path for upskilling and reskilling workers, allowing learning to be faster, more responsive, and relevant to emerging job demands.

These micro‑credential courses cover shorter training durations and can lead to nationally recognized certifications. TESDA reports that 335 micro‑credential programs have already been registered across 167 institutions under its current framework.

To make these more accessible, TESDA encourages schools and training centers to coordinate with regional or provincial offices to manage registration and compliance requirements.
