The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warns that two major weather systems—the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan)—will combine to bring cloudy skies and scattered rainfall across many parts of the Philippines.
- Areas such as MIMAROPA, the Bicol Region, Quezon, Visayas, and Mindanao can expect cloudy conditions with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
- Northern Luzon — including the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera zone — will see partly to mostly cloudy skies, with isolated light rains under the influence of Amihan.
- Wind and sea conditions will vary: moderate to strong winds and rough to very rough seas are likely in northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, while lighter winds and slight to moderate seas are expected elsewhere.
What this means for you:
- Travelers or those working outdoors in Visayas or Mindanao should prepare for rainfall by bringing an umbrella or raincoat.
- In northern Luzon, isolated showers may occur, so flexible plans are recommended.
- Coastal and marine activities in the north and east may be affected by gusty winds and rough seas, so checking local advisories is advised.
