Fr. Ewald Dinter, SVD, a long‑time missionary among the Mangyan people in Oriental Mindoro, has died at the age of 88. He passed away at 9:07 p.m. on Friday at UST Hospital in Manila, as announced by Fr. Anthony Ibarra Banawa Fabella, SVD.
Fr. Dinter dedicated much of his life to serving the Mangyan indigenous communities, offering pastoral care, education, and social support in remote areas. His efforts left a meaningful impact on the local church and the Mangyan people.
His death marks the end of a life of service and commitment to some of the Philippines’ more isolated communities. May his legacy continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
