Manila Water Company Expands Sewerage Network with 43,000+ New Connections

Manila Water Company reported that its sewerage and sanitation service network has grown by over 43,000 new connections recently, strengthening its wastewater infrastructure across its East Zone concession. With an increased number of households now served by either separate, combined or hybrid sewer systems, the utility emphasises that this expansion supports public‑health and environmental objectives.

In addition to new connections, the company has intensified other sanitation efforts: septic‑tank desludging programmes now cover tens of thousands of tanks annually, while network upgrades and treatment‑plant investments are advancing in areas such as Marikina, Quezon City, Taguig and Antipolo. The firm said these initiatives are integral to its long‑term commitment to safer wastewater management, reduced pollution and expanded service coverage.
