2 Reported Dead as Typhoon Uwan Strikes the Philippines

At least two people have died following the landfall of Typhoon Uwan, which made impact with strong winds and heavy rain across Luzon and adjacent areas. One victim reportedly drowned after being caught in floodwaters, while another was killed when debris struck them amid the storm.

The fatalities come as the storm caused widespread disruption: extensive evacuations, infrastructure damage, and suspended transportation services. Authorities stress that these initial casualties could rise as search and assessment efforts continue.
