Sea Travel Suspended in Bohol as Tropical Storm Uwan Spurs Rough Seas

The Philippine Coast Guard has halted all sea trips and ferry services in Eastern and Western parts of Bohol due to dangerous sea conditions caused by Tropical Storm Uwan. The suspension affects numerous routes between Bohol and neighboring islands, impacting both passengers and cargo traffic.

The move was prompted by forecasts of strong winds and turbulent seas, which increase the risk of accidents for vessels, especially smaller ones and inter-island ferries. Coastal areas were also warned to expect possible surges and high waves.

Officials said voyages will only resume once weather and marine conditions return to safe levels, with increased monitoring and coordination with local governments to ensure public safety.
