The SSS has activated its Calamity Loan Program to provide immediate financial relief for its members in Cebu who were affected by Typhoon Tino. Starting 6 November 2025 and open until 5 December 2025, eligible members may borrow up to ₱20,000 at an interest rate of 7 % per annum, to be repaid over 24 months.
Key eligibility requirements include:
- Residing or working in an area officially declared under a State of Calamity due to Typhoon Tino.
- Having at least 36 monthly contributions in total, with at least 6 posted in the 12 months prior to application (for employed members). Individually paying members need at least 6 contributions under the current membership type.
- No outstanding restructured loans or past‐due SSS loan accounts.
- Applying through the MySSS online portal; once approved, the loan proceeds will be credited to the member’s enrolled disbursement account.
This move is designed to help affected members address urgent needs (such as repairs, replacement of lost household items, and support for lost income) while longer‐term relief and rehabilitation efforts are underway.
