Suspect in Killing of CIDG Cop Surrenders to Pasig Police

One of the prime suspects in the fatal shooting of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Police Captain Joel Deiparine in Cebu City has surrendered to the authorities in Pasig City.
The suspect turned himself in at a police station in Pasig, responding to the case filed over the killing. Law‑enforcement sources say he is one of three persons being pursued in connection with the incident.
Police say the surrender marks a step forward in the investigation—officers can now begin questioning the suspect, gathering evidence and working toward the apprehension of the remaining persons of interest.
Officials emphasise that the case is being treated with priority given it involved a CIDG officer, and hope this development signals that suspects are choosing to surrender rather than evade capture.
