Senator Jinggoy Estrada is calling for a full investigation into the implementation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ modernization program. He aims to shed light on alleged irregularities, particularly in equipment procurement and contracts that some claim may be problematic.
According to earlier resolutions he introduced, the review would focus on issues such as defective assets, questionable contracts, and whether the funds meant for modernization are being used effectively.
Estrada believes the inquiry is necessary to ensure transparency, proper use of taxpayer money, and that the AFP is genuinely equipped to carry out its mission effectively.
