Marcos Omits Camille Villar’s Name Amid Probe into Villar-Owned PrimeWater

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. noticeably left out Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar’s name during a campaign speech in Batangas for the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, marking the first time she wasn’t included in his endorsement remarks.

In previous rallies, Marcos had consistently endorsed Villar—even in her absence. However, at the Batangas City event, not only was her name unmentioned, but her image was also missing from the campaign stage’s backdrop.

This omission comes just days after Marcos ordered an investigation into PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp., a Villar family-owned company, following public complaints about its service.

The Villar family leads the Nacionalista Party, which is part of the five-party Alyansa coalition. Marcos himself was formerly a member of NP before switching to Partido Federal ng Pilipinas in 2022.

GMA News Online has sought comment from Villar’s camp but has yet to receive a response.

Meanwhile, Batangas gubernatorial candidate Vilma Santos-Recto voiced strong support for the administration’s Senate bets and emphasized teamwork among the Alyansa members. During a lunch she hosted with husband Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Santos-Recto also expressed hope that future senators would support development in Batangas.

Batangas is the seventh most vote-rich province in the Philippines, making Calabarzon the region with the highest number of registered voters for the upcoming Eleksyon 2025.
