Family and Celebrities Pay Tribute to Nora Aunor on First Night of Wake


Family, friends, and fellow artists gathered to honor the life and legacy of Nora Aunor on the first night of her wake at Heritage Park.

Actress Nadia Montenegro shared glimpses from the solemn gathering on Instagram. Among those who paid their respects were notable figures in Philippine entertainment and politics, including Vilma Santos, Senator Robin Padilla, Boots Anson-Roa, Melissa Mendez, and Glenda Garcia, as reported by Lhar Santiago on 24 Oras.

Nora Aunor, known as the “Superstar” of Philippine cinema, passed away on April 16 at the age of 71. A celebrated actress with numerous accolades, she was conferred the title of National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022.

Some of her iconic films such as Himala, Minsa’y Isang Gamu-gamo, and Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos remain accessible through streaming platforms.

The second night of the wake will be a private event for family and close friends, while the public is invited to pay their respects on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nora Aunor will be given a state funeral before her final interment at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Tuesday.
