Erwin Tulfo Proposes OFW Pension System; Camille Villar Focuses on Jobs, Health, Education

ACT-CIS Party-list Representative and senatorial candidate Erwin Tulfo is pushing for a dedicated pension system for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), aiming to provide long-term benefits to those who have worked abroad.

Tulfo said he will file a measure that would create a separate pension system exclusively for OFWs, independent of the Social Security System (SSS). Under the proposal, both the OFW and the government would contribute to the fund, with the government possibly contributing double or even triple the amount of the OFW’s share.

“This would ensure that OFWs can enjoy the fruits of their labor after retirement,” Tulfo said.

Meanwhile, Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar campaigned in Muntinlupa City, where she was endorsed by Mayor Ruffy Biazon. Villar promised to prioritize job creation, financial literacy, maternal and reproductive health, housing, and education through legislative efforts and community projects.

Both Tulfo and Villar are part of the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas, a senatorial slate backed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Despite the campaign’s latest sortie in Cavite on Friday, both Villar and Senator Imee Marcos were notably absent. Instead, Villar joined a motorcade with Caloocan Representative Oscar Malapitan on the same day.
