MANILA — Actress and PBB host Gabbi Garcia got the surprise of a lifetime when she was unexpectedly announced as the newest celebrity house guest on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.
During Saturday’s episode, Gabbi was on hosting duty, preparing to introduce the next Kapuso star to enter the iconic house—only to see a video of herself on screen. Fellow host Robi Domingo then made it official: Gabbi would be joining the housemates.
“It’s always been in the back of my mind that this might happen, and now it’s real,” she said, reacting with shock and humor. “Kuya, you even brought me in at a time when there’s no weekly budget!”
The housemates had just failed a weekly task, which left them without a budget for the week—a tough time for anyone to join.
Bianca Gonzalez reminded viewers that Gabbi had once auditioned for PBB when she was younger. “Young Gabbi who auditioned before—this is her moment,” Bianca said. Gabbi responded with a laugh, “You wanted this, right?”
Caught off guard, Gabbi shared that she didn’t even get to say goodbye to her family or boyfriend Khalil Ramos. “Khalil is performing live right now… I didn’t even get to say bye,” she said, calling out to her parents, “Mommy, Daddy, goodbye!”
Gabbi joins a growing list of celebrity house guests this season, following Mavy Legaspi and Ivana Alawi. Her entry was part of a consequence after she and fellow hosts failed a challenge earlier in the season.
Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition airs weekdays at 10 p.m. and weekends at 6:15 p.m. on GMA Network.
