MANILA — Actress and former That’s Entertainment host Donita Rose reflected on her weight loss journey at age 50, sharing candid insights about the pressures of maintaining a youthful image in showbiz.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Donita shared a gym photo and talked about shedding 40 pounds—a milestone that brought both achievement and introspection.
“Losing fat in your 50s is especially challenging for women,” she wrote. “After losing the weight, people often expect you to look just like you did in your 20s or 30s. But the truth is, that’s rarely the case.”
Donita spoke about the relentless pressure celebrities face to maintain an ideal look. “Yes, we have a responsibility to appear fit and healthy. But we’re human, too. We don’t have timeless beauty—we just do our best with the time we’re given.”
She reminded followers that qualities like kindness matter far more than fleeting appearances. “As scripture says, beauty fades, but kindness endures. My husband and I are focused on health, staying active, and seeking God daily,” she shared.
Donita had previously revealed undergoing liposuction and a facelift, noting that her transformation took a year and a half. “I’m 40 pounds lighter and the happiest I’ve ever been. It wasn’t easy, but I’m grateful for this version of me.”
Other celebrities like Sharon Cuneta have also spoken openly about their body transformations, with the Megastar shedding over 100 pounds and having surgery to remove excess skin.
