Raquel Pempengco, mother of singer Jake Zyrus, took to Facebook to post cryptic messages after excerpts from Zyrus’ 2018 memoir I Am Jake resurfaced online. The book details the singer’s painful past, including allegations of sexual abuse by an uncle.
Without naming names, Pempengco dismissed the memoir as “fake news” and hinted that she might “update” the book herself.
“There’s another fake news from a book. That book is not updated. Wait ’til I update it myself,” she wrote.
She also appeared to accept the public’s negative perception of her, stating:
“I’m used to being called bad. If that makes you happy, then fine. I accept the name ‘Evil Queen.’ But I won’t write my own book because I don’t want to add more villains to the story.”

Pempengco seemingly blamed Zyrus for their strained relationship, claiming that despite their issues, she was instrumental in her child’s success.
“You’re where you are now because of this ‘evil queen’ and this bad mother. No matter how many books you release, you can’t change the fact that you ruined everything,” she added.
Her posts have stirred mixed reactions online, with many recalling Zyrus’ past revelations about their turbulent relationship.
Meanwhile, Zyrus has yet to respond to his mother’s latest remarks.
