Isabela Bridge Collapses, 6 Injured; Dump Truck Driver Missing

ISABELA, Philippines – A portion of a bridge connecting Cabagan and Santa Maria in Isabela province collapsed Thursday evening, injuring six people, including a child, while the dump truck driver remains missing.

According to the Isabela Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the bridge partially gave way after a dump truck passed over it. The injured victims were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

In response, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Cagayan Valley has advised motorists to take caution as they assess the damage and safety risks.

Authorities are currently investigating the structural integrity of the bridge and working on safety measures to prevent further incidents.
