Alodia Gosiengfiao has issued a warning to her fans about a fake advertisement circulating on social media that uses her videos to promote gambling. The popular content creator made it clear that she has no affiliation with any gambling entity and did not consent to the use of her content.
Gosiengfiao addressed the issue after a concerned netizen reached out to ask if she had authorized the video’s use in a gambling ad.
“No, they used my video without asking/consent,” Gosiengfiao confirmed in a post on her Facebook page last Saturday, Feb. 1. She urged her followers to report any similar videos they come across and thanked those who alerted her to the fake advertisement.
“I want to clarify that I am not promoting, nor will I ever promote or be affiliated with any gambling entity,” she emphasized.
This comes amid growing discussions surrounding celebrity endorsements of gambling platforms. Recently, actress Nadine Lustre faced backlash after becoming a brand ambassador for an online casino. While some fans criticized her, citing her advocacy for animal rights and environmental causes, others defended her decision as part of her “hustle.”
Lustre indirectly addressed the controversy, stating that engaging in gambling is ultimately an individual’s personal choice.
