Doug Kramer Shares Heartfelt Message as Daughter Scarlett Shifts to Tennis

MANILA – Former basketball player Doug Kramer showed his unwavering support for his daughter Scarlett, who recently transitioned from taekwondo to tennis.

In an Instagram post, the Team Kramer patriarch shared photos of 13-year-old Scarlett on the tennis court, reflecting on her emotional yet brave decision to switch sports.

“It was a tough decision for Scar, coming from the first sport she truly liked to do. Some tears were shed,” Doug wrote. “But she wanted to find a sport she can love, grow, and embrace.”

Despite the shift, Scarlett has no regrets, and her father expressed excitement for her upcoming competitions.

“We’re all looking forward to our warrior princess hitting the court again. And as you can see, her smile while playing says it all,” Doug added.

Encouraging Words for Scarlett

Doug also called on his followers to support Scarlett as she pursues her new passion, asking them to uplift young athletes rather than bring them down.

“When you see her compete and give her all during matches this year, don’t bring her down. Encourage and support a child who has found a new passion.”

He ended his post with a heartfelt message for Scarlett: “Daddy and Mommy are right here to support and love you no matter the outcome.”

Doug and Chesca Garcia-Kramer, married since 2008, are proud parents to Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin.
