Rufa Mae Quinto has spoken out for the first time about her marital struggles with husband Trevor Magallanes, revealing she is still hoping for a conversation to clarify their relationship.
In an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on January 17, Quinto shared that no formal divorce proceedings have been initiated despite earlier statements from Magallanes about being “in the process of divorce.”
Waiting for Clarity
“As a wife, I’m waiting for us to clear things up and talk to see if this is truly how he feels,” Quinto said. “I’m often away, so maybe it’s a chance to reconnect and appeal for understanding.”
Quinto acknowledged that there are always two sides to a story and admitted she is not always right, adding, “We’re going through something, but no one has filed for divorce.”
Divorce Complications
Quinto and Magallanes were married in the Philippines, where divorce is not legalized. The actress joked that she has already dealt with too many legal filings related to other matters, including her ongoing issues involving a skincare endorsement linked to an alleged investment scam.
Holding on for Family
Quinto described Magallanes as a good husband and father, dismissing rumors that money is at the root of their problems. She emphasized her desire for their family, including their daughter Athena, to stay together.
“I still love him, and I respect whatever decision he makes,” Quinto said. “As long as no one has filed [for divorce], I’m waiting. I don’t want to end it, especially for our child.”
Quinto and Magallanes married in 2016 and welcomed Athena in 2017.
