Andrea Brillantes, who recently claimed the top spot on the Most Beautiful Faces of 2024 list, shared her gratitude for her looks, which she credited for opening doors in her career and enabling her to support her family.
During an appearance on ASAP, the young actress reflected on her journey, admitting that her recognition came as a surprise given her childhood experiences of being bullied.
“I was very happy when I found out. I used to get bullied a lot at school. It’s like I’ve never really been beautiful. So when I found out, I was very surprised,” she said.
A Blessing Amid Challenges
Brillantes described her looks as a gift from God, a “compensation” for the challenges she has faced in life.
“Maybe the Lord gave me this face because I will go through a lot in life. It’s because of my face that I’ve paid for my family’s food; everything I’m able to do because of my face. So He said, ‘At least let’s make this girl beautiful,’” she shared candidly.
A Message of Self-Love
Despite the recognition, Brillantes emphasized the importance of self-love and a strong relationship with God.
“For me, in my eyes, I’m already top 1. Just choose to love yourself no matter how hard it is. Start little by little—it’s not an overnight process,” she said, encouraging others to embrace their uniqueness.
