
A fire that broke out early Sunday morning in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, left one person dead and two others injured, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Fire Details
The blaze began at 3:47 a.m. on Acacia Street in a residential area, reportedly originating from a house without electricity. Firefighters encountered challenges accessing the site but recovered the remains of the lone fatality, a man, from one of the burned houses past 8 a.m.
Two individuals sustained injuries during the incident, and the BFP reported that at least 30 homes and establishments were damaged or destroyed.
The fire reached the second alarm before it was declared extinguished at 6:03 a.m., according to BFP ground commander Robert Marabilla.
Investigation Underway
The Bureau of Fire Protection and the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) of the Pasig Police have launched an investigation to determine the fire’s cause.
Assistance for Affected Residents
Residents displaced by the fire are currently being sheltered in a neighborhood chapel.
