
Hollywood director David Fincher is reportedly set to remake the South Korean sensation Squid Game in English, according to Deadline. Initially conceived as a film, the adaptation is now being developed as a series, with Fincher expected to start production in 2025. Known for his intense storytelling style in films like Fight Club and Seven, Fincher is anticipated to bring a unique spin to the English-language version.
Meanwhile, Netflix released the official trailer for Squid Game Season 2 on October 31, revealing the return of Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who disrupts the game’s mechanics as he continues his quest for answers. Returning characters include the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) and Detective Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), while new cast members such as Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, and Jo Yu-ri join the storyline.
According to director Hwang Dong-hyuk, Season 2 will delve deeper into Gi-hun’s journey to uncover the motives behind the deadly games. Squid Game Season 2 is set to premiere on December 26.
