Actor Ruru Madrid recently revealed a humorous story from his early teens, sharing that he once tried to court Barbie Forteza when he was around 14 or 15 years old but was turned down. In an interview on Lutong Bahay with Mikee Quintos, Ruru explained that he gifted Barbie a pair of slippers, though he didn’t know her size. The slippers, a present from his uncle abroad, ended up being too large—a detail Ruru jokingly says led to his rejection.
Despite this, Ruru and Barbie remained good friends. Both actors have since moved on and found love with other people; Ruru is now dating Bianca Umali, while Barbie is in a relationship with Jak Roberto. The two couples are also on friendly terms, with Barbie and Bianca as well as Ruru and Jak maintaining friendships.
Currently, Barbie stars in Pulang Araw, while Ruru is working on Lolong Season 2.
