Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Praises Rain or Shine for Tough Series After Leading TNT to PBA Finals

MANILA, Philippines — After leading TNT Tropang Giga back to the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals, import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson acknowledged the tough competition from Rain or Shine, despite the series finishing 4-1 in favor of TNT.

TNT sealed the series with a 113-95 victory in Game 5 at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo, but Hollis-Jefferson emphasized that the win didn’t come easily. “They made me work for everything that I’ve got, and it was a tough battle,” said Hollis-Jefferson, lauding the defensive effort of Rain or Shine.

The former NBA player delivered an impressive performance in Game 5, registering 36 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and six steals, following his dominant showing in Game 4, where he tallied 23 points, 19 rebounds, and multiple assists, steals, and blocks.

Despite the victory, Hollis-Jefferson shifted the focus to his teammates and the support staff, stating, “This win wasn’t just about me or Coach Chot, it was about everyone—the support staff, the guys who don’t play.”

With Ginebra just one win away from eliminating San Miguel, Hollis-Jefferson and TNT are now preparing for a potential Finals showdown. “We want to be champions. At the end of the day, we know what we have to do,” he said, signaling his readiness for the next challenge.
