The Information reported that Twitter Inc. laid off dozens of employees last Saturday. This is the company’s eighth round of layoffs since Elon Musk took over last October 2022.

Most of the jobs cut were in engineering teams that supported the Twitter app’s technical design as well as Twitter’s advertising technology support.

Last November, Musk decided to lay off 37,000 employees to cut costs. That was also around the time Musk disclosed that the social media platform was going through a “massive drop in revenue” as advertisers started pulling out due to concerns about content moderation.
