Opening of 20 Collection Points Nationwide Being Planned

MANILA, Philippines – IKEA continues to broaden its reach to Filipino customers nationwide by establishing collection points, with Cebu and Pampanga being the latest sites of these hubs.
Jarek Lesniewski, In-Store Logistics Manager at IKEA Pasay City, said they were overwhelmed by the Philippine market reaction despite the pandemic situation.
Lesniewski said that IKEA PH’s volume of stocks, which were estimated to last for 10 weeks, got sold out only a few days after the store’s opening last Nov. 25, 2021
Instead of putting up new branches, the Sweden-based furniture company plans to expand its presence throughout the country through an eCommerce portal and 20 strategically-placed collection hubs in the coming years.
Along with this announcement during the formal opening of IKEA’s Cebu Collection Hub, Jon Cinconiegue, Fulfillment Developer of IKEA Philippines, said, “We are always looking for new ways to make our home furnishing solutions more accessible to many people. Through additional collection points in Luzon and Visayas, we can reach even more Filipinos and help them create a better and more sustainable everyday life.”
After making their online purchases from IKEA Philippines’ official website, customers have the option to pick up their orders in these hubs – an advantage especially for customers outside Metro Manila.
The Cebu collection point was opened on Feb. 8, allowing easier transactions in Visayas and Mindanao.
The Pampanga collection point meanwhile, started operations last December 2021.
