Former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has been removed from Senator Ping Lacson and Senator Tito Sotto’s senatorial slate

MANILA, Philippines — The running mates confirmed the matter during a press conference before their campaign rally at the Quezon Memorial Circle.
Lacson disclosed that Bautista wrote him a letter asking for permission to become the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) representative for the UniTeam. The UniTeam is a coalition for the Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte tandem.
Lacson said that neither he nor his team knew how to respond to Bautista’s request.
Bautista confirmed that he only learned about his removal through news accounts. In a phone interview, Bautista said he has no ill feelings towards the tandem. He said he understood that they were very busy people, and even expressed his thanks as they briefly included them in their senate ticket.
Now, Bautista says he is free to openly campaign for the Marcos-Duterte tandem.
