METRO MANILA — Residents and businesses in parts of Quezon City and Rizal Province should prepare for temporary power outages today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Meralco has announced these scheduled interruptions to facilitate vital maintenance work, including the replacement of aging poles, line reconductoring, and the installation of new distribution transformers.
The maintenance activities are part of the utility provider’s continuous efforts to upgrade infrastructure and improve service reliability during the peak demand season.

To minimize inconvenience, Meralco recommends the following:

- Unplug Appliances: Disconnect sensitive electronics (computers, televisions, refrigerators) to prevent damage from potential power surges when electricity is restored.
- Food Safety: Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to maintain the temperature for perishable goods.
- Water Storage: For areas using electric water pumps, store enough water for household needs during the maintenance window.
Meralco stated that while they strive to minimize the duration of the outages, some work might be completed ahead of or slightly after the scheduled time depending on field conditions. The utility provider thanked customers for their patience as they implement these necessary system upgrades.
