Manila Water Projects Expand 24/7 Supply Across Rizal

MANILA, Philippines — Thousands of households and businesses in Rizal province are set to benefit from enhanced water accessibility as Manila Water reaches critical milestones in several mainline extension projects.

The initiatives, reported on April 10, 2026, are part of the concessionaire’s aggressive strategy to strengthen distribution networks in high-growth areas and ensure long-term water security for the province.

Residents of Banyuhay Subdivision in Barangay Silangan, San Mateo, are now experiencing continuous 24/7 service following the completion of a major mainline extension.

  • Infrastructure: Installation of a 924.5-meter, 100-mm pipeline.
  • Timeline: Construction began in April 2025 and was finalized in January 2026.
  • Impact: The new line services over 160 connections, providing stable water access to approximately 1,000 residents.

Several other major projects are nearing completion or have reached significant progress markers:

  1. Marcos Highway (Antipolo): The mainline extension from Cabading to Heroes Ville Package 1 is over 90% complete. As of February 2026, 3,600 meters of pipe have been laid. The line was partially energized in March to support new businesses in the area.
  2. Heroes Ville 2 (Baras): A 100-mm extension has already successfully delivered 523 new water service connections.
  3. Barangay Calawis (Antipolo): Packages 3 and 4 of this mainline project are scheduled for completion between the second and third quarters of 2026. Package 3 has already activated 176 connections.

Manila Water highlighted that these projects involve sophisticated engineering designs to navigate complex environments, including protected areas, forestlands, and ancestral domains.

Through continued investment in network expansion and the upgrading of pumping stations and treatment plants, the company aims to eliminate service fluctuations and improve system flexibility during peak demand hours. These efforts align with a broader sustainability strategy focused on optimizing infrastructure and protecting vital water sources to meet the growing needs of Rizal’s expanding population.
