Marcos Says Philippines’ Crude Oil Supply Will Last Until End of June

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday assured Filipinos that the country currently has enough crude oil supply to last until June 30, 2026 despite global energy uncertainties stemming from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Marcos said the government has secured adequate imports of crude oil, and deliveries continue to arrive steadily, helping the Philippines maintain sufficient stocks in the face of possible disruptions to global supplies.

The assurance comes amid concerns over rising fuel prices and potential interruptions in supply caused by conflicts affecting key oil exporting regions. Marcos’ statement aims to calm public anxieties and signal that authorities are closely monitoring the situation.

Analysts note that while having a stock of crude oil into June provides a buffer for the energy‑dependent nation, the Philippines still relies heavily on imports for its fuel needs. Continued efforts to diversify sources and secure deliveries will be crucial in managing future supply risks.

Government officials have also indicated that discussions continue on measures that could help stabilize fuel prices and strengthen energy security, including possible adjustments to tax policies on petroleum products.

With the upcoming months critical for energy planning, authorities said they would continue coordinating with industry partners and monitoring international developments to ensure enough supply for domestic consumption and essential services.
