MILAN, ITALY — Speed skater Peter Joseph Proulx and alpine skier Asa Miller-Ceccarelli proudly carried the Philippine flag during the dazzling opening ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics on Friday night, February 6, 2026.
The Filipino duo led a small but determined delegation into the San Siro Stadium, marking the Philippines’ continued presence in the winter sports arena.

- Peter Joseph Proulx: Making his Olympic debut, Proulx is the first Filipino speed skater to qualify for the Winter Games. His qualification is seen as a major breakthrough for the Philippine Skating Union.
