The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has denied former lawmaker Mike Defensor’s allegations that the agency illegally detained and beat John Paul Estrada, the aide of ex-Representative Zaldy Co, and allegedly flew him and his wife out of the country using fake passports.
The NBI stated there is no record of Estrada or his wife being in their custody and no medical reports or complaints indicating any physical harm.
The bureau has challenged Defensor to present verifiable evidence to support his claims. They warned that if no credible proof is submitted, the allegations could be considered malicious and potentially lead to legal consequences, but if evidence is provided, the NBI will investigate accordingly.
