Taal Volcano Logs Minor Eruption Wednesday Morning

Taal Volcano experienced a minor phreatomagmatic eruption early Wednesday morning, lasting from 6:51 a.m. to 6:54 a.m. local time.

The eruption involved the interaction of water and magma or hot rock, producing a short-lived steam and ash burst from the volcano’s main crater. The alert level remains at Level 1, indicating low-level unrest, though authorities advise continued vigilance.

Although the eruption was brief and caused no immediate threat to nearby communities, residents on Taal Volcano Island and along Tal‑Tal Ridge are advised to avoid prohibited zones and stay alert for possible volcanic-gas emissions or sudden steam bursts.
