President Marcos Declares One-Year State of National Calamity


President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has approved the declaration of a one-year state of national calamity following the widespread destruction caused by Typhoon Tino.

The declaration empowers national and local agencies to expedite rescue, relief, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts. It also allows the government to implement emergency measures such as price ceilings on basic goods and no-interest loans for affected sectors.
