Free MRT and LRT Rides Announced Ahead of Typhoon Uwan

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that commuters in Metro Manila can ride the city’s major rail systems—MRT‑3, LRT‑1, and LRT‑2—for free on November 10 and 11 as Typhoon Uwan approaches.

The free rides are part of a broader transportation relief effort. The DOTr, in coordination with other agencies, will also deploy buses on key routes to support commuters during the storm period.

Commuters are advised to stay updated with their rail operators for any service changes, avoid travel during peak storm hours if possible, and use the free ride window to adjust their plans safely.
