The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has reported that it has distributed more than 300,000 food packs to families impacted by Typhoon Tino across the Visayas region. These relief goods form part of the agency’s rapid‑response efforts to provide urgent support in the aftermath of the storm.
In addition to the food packs, the DSWD has pre‑positioned over 2.1 million family food packs nationwide before the typhoon struck, ensuring readiness in key evacuation and supply hubs. The Visayas region alone received tens of thousands of food packs to jumpstart the relief operation.
The food packs consist of essential items designed to sustain families during the initial recovery period, including rice, canned goods, and other ready‑to‑eat meals. DSWD teams are coordinating closely with local government units to continue rolling out assistance, monitor affected communities, and restore access to basic needs as quickly as possible.
