AboitizPower Dispatches Power Crews to Aid Cebu’s Storm Recovery

Power-group AboitizPower announced that several of its electricity-distribution companies have mobilised restoration teams to Cebu in response to the damage caused by Typhoon Tino.

Among the units deployed are personnel from Davao Light and Power Company and Cotabato Light and Power Company, who have been sent to assist in repair crews, line restoration and emergency power support in heavily impacted areas.

One of AboitizPower’s subsidiaries also reported the activation of an oil-fired generating unit in Cebu to deliver roughly 18 MW of power to priority facilities such as hospitals and evacuation centres, enabling electricity supply to be restored more rapidly in critical zones.

Officials emphasised that while the typhoon caused widespread disruption, the quick mobilisation of restoration crews and supplementary generation support helped reduce downtime and accelerate the recovery process. They also invited affected customers to report outages and coordinate with their local distribution companies for updates.
