Tropical Storm Slips into Philippine Waters Sunday Morning, PAGASA Warns

MANILA — A new tropical storm quietly entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early Sunday, catching the attention of weather watchers and residents alike.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) confirmed the system’s arrival around 8 a.m., naming it locally as it begins its westward track. While still far from land, the agency is closely monitoring its path and potential to intensify.

“Residents in eastern sections should stay alert and prepare for possible rain and gusty winds in the coming days,” PAGASA forecaster Ana Liza Solis said in the morning bulletin.

No alerts have been raised yet, but coastal communities are advised to secure fishing boats and keep an eye on updates. The storm’s entry comes as the country remains on guard during the peak of the rainy season.

More details on wind speeds, rainfall forecasts, and affected areas will follow as the system develops.
