More Senators Publicly Disclose Their SALNs, Boosting Transparency

In a recent move toward greater transparency, many members of the Senate of the Philippines have made their Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) publicly available.

To date, 21 of the 24 sitting senators have submitted their SALNs.

These documents provide a snapshot of each lawmaker’s financial standing — from properties and investments to liabilities and business interests.

Among those who made their disclosures:

  • Mark Villar, who declared over ₱1.26 billion in net worth and emerged as the richest senator so far.
  • Chiz Escudero, who reported around ₱18.8 million in net worth — one of the lowest among the group.

The remaining senators yet to publicly disclose their SALNs include Alan Peter Cayetano, Imee Marcos, and Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.

This wave of disclosures comes amid public pressure for more accountability and clearer visibility into the financial affairs of public officials.
