Former Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III has addressed his attendance at a recent Liberal Party event, stressing that his presence was simply that of a guest—invited by a friend.
Torre said he did not attend the event in any official capacity or as a show of affiliation. He underscored that the invitation came from a personal connection, not as a representative of any organization.
He added that his motivation stemmed from helping friends and affected barangays during recent cyclones, rather than political endorsement.
Despite stepping away from the top post at the PNP, Torre remains an active officer under the force’s ranks, according to official sources.
