Motorists in Luzon can now breathe easier: starting [recently], you only need one RFID sticker to travel across all major toll expressways in the region.
The initiative — dubbed the “One RFID, All Tollways” system — was officially launched by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), in coordination with major RFID service providers like Autosweep and Easytrip.
Here are the key things motorists should know:
- You may choose either Autosweep or Easytrip as your single RFID account going forward.
- The unified RFID now covers expressways including: North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway (all stages), NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAX), Manila–Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Muntinlupa–Cavite Expressway (MCX), and STAR Tollway. ers under the previous system — though the streamlined single-tag option is now available.
- For those transitioning: You’ll need to opt-in online, select your preferred provider, remove the unchosen sticker at a service centre, and load your chosen account.
The unified system aims to reduce hassle at toll plazas, expedite travel, and eliminate the need to manage multiple RFID tags and wallets when driving across the Luzon expressway network.
