Taal Volcano’s one‑minute phreatomagmatic blast sends 500‑m plume skyward

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that Taal Volcano produced a phreatomagmatic eruption lasting one minute at 6:13 a.m., generating a 500‑meter plume . 

The event followed weeks of heightened seismic activity; however, Phivolcs noted that no earthquakes or tremors were detected in the 24 hours before the eruption .
