The Philippines has once again made waves in the global tourism scene after receiving nine nominations at the prestigious 2025 World Travel Awards (WTA). Known as the “Oscars” of the travel industry, the WTA recognizes outstanding destinations, attractions, and hospitality providers around the world.
This year, the country is vying for several major honors, including Asia’s Leading Beach Destination and Asia’s Leading Dive Destination—titles the Philippines has proudly held in previous years. Top tourist spots like Boracay, Cebu, and Palawan continue to showcase the country’s natural beauty and world-class hospitality, earning international recognition.
Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco praised the nominations, saying they reflect the Philippines’ growing reputation as a must-visit destination. “These nominations highlight the passion, resilience, and creativity of our tourism industry,” she said.
Winners of the World Travel Awards will be determined through online voting, open to travelers and tourism professionals worldwide.
