Easterlies, Amihan to Bring Rain Showers in Parts of PH on Thursday

Filipinos can expect cloudy skies and scattered rain showers on Thursday, October 16, as both the easterlies and the northeast monsoon, or amihan, affect different parts of the country.

According to PAGASA, the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over parts of Visayas and Mindanao. Meanwhile, the amihan is expected to influence Northern Luzon, bringing cooler temperatures along with light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may also experience isolated rain showers, mostly in the afternoon or evening, due to localized thunderstorms. Residents are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods or landslides, especially in areas prone to heavy rainfall.

As the amihan gradually strengthens, temperatures in northern parts of the country are expected to drop in the coming days, signaling the approach of the cooler season.
