New Cyclone Expected to Enter PH by Thursday, Says PAGASA

A new weather disturbance could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Forecasters are monitoring a developing tropical cyclone outside the PAR that may move closer to the country in the coming days. Once it enters the monitoring zone, it will be given the local name “Perla.”

While PAGASA has yet to confirm its exact path and intensity, the weather bureau said it may enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat), bringing rains over parts of Luzon and Visayas.

Residents, especially those in low-lying and coastal areas, are urged to stay updated on official advisories as the potential cyclone continues to develop.

PAGASA assured the public that updates will be issued regularly as new data comes in.
