Megan Young has gotten real about the early challenges of her breastfeeding journey, sharing her emotional experience as a new mom.
On Instagram, Megan posted a heartfelt video showing her pouring pumped breast milk into a bottle, reflecting on how overwhelming it was at the start. She recalled producing only 10 mL during her initial attempts, saying it left her feeling frustrated and under pressure to feed her baby, Leon.
“Honestly, I cried the first time I had to pump because I felt so much pressure to provide,” Megan admitted. She also expressed gratitude to friends and fellow moms who donated breast milk when her supply was low.
Determined to boost her milk supply, Megan tried everything from malunggay supplements and clam broth to oats—embracing every tip she could find. Now, she says her milk output varies throughout the day, with mornings yielding the most at 98 mL.
“We’re all different and this just happens to be my journey. I’m happy and proud of what I’m able to provide for my little one,” she wrote, adding a motivating “Fighting!!!”
Megan and husband Mikael Daez, who married in 2020, welcomed their first child, Leon, in May. Since then, the former beauty queen has been candidly sharing her parenting experiences, including the highs and hurdles of new motherhood.
