Maine Mendoza marked a milestone in her career as she celebrated the 10th anniversary of her unforgettable debut as Yaya Dub on Eat Bulaga.
On July 4, Mendoza’s Eat Bulaga co-hosts paid tribute to her by showing a series of nostalgic photos from the Kalye Serye days—a live soap-parody segment that propelled her and Alden Richards to fame as the beloved AlDub tandem.
Dressed in a polka-dot outfit resembling Yaya Dub’s apron, Mendoza expressed her surprise and joy: “I’m happy. I had no idea I’d reached 10 years here in Eat Bulaga.”
The slideshow highlighted major AlDub moments—like their first on-air meeting, their initial “pabebe wave” photo, and the now-iconic “plywood” scene that famously kept the two apart.
Co-host Allan K shared he felt emotional reminiscing, admitting he was a big fan of the Yaya Dub-Alden pairing.
Later, Mendoza posted a heartfelt message on social media, reflecting on her journey. “Some days felt overwhelming, especially at the start, but it was fun while it lasted,” she wrote. “What a wild, wild ride.”
She also thanked her long-time supporters and her Eat Bulaga family: “Thank you for walking with me through every season… Eat Bulaga has been my home, and I’ll always be right here.”
The AlDub phenomenon, which started in 2015, quickly became a cultural sensation, earning both national and international acclaim.
