Actor-director John Prats took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing candid thoughts about his past love team—and real-life romance—with Heart Evangelista.
In a sit-down interview with Luis Manzano on Luis Listens, Prats recalled how he was initially hesitant to be in a love team, especially when he was unexpectedly paired with Evangelista during their G-mik days.
“At first, I really didn’t want a love team. I was enjoying not having to do fan service,” he said. “And when Heart became my partner, I thought, ‘Napakaarte!’”
Prats explained that their personalities were total opposites. “She was super meticulous about her makeup and her caboodle. I wasn’t used to that,” he joked, drawing laughs from Manzano.
Despite the rocky start, the on-screen chemistry between the two clicked with fans. “There was no attraction at first, but the audience loved us. That’s really what made it work,” he admitted.
Their love team grew into a real-life relationship that lasted about two years. While the pair eventually went their separate ways, Prats revealed they’ve remained friends—and that Evangelista even helped him court his now-wife, actress Isabel Oli.
“When I visited Liv on set, I didn’t know Heart was there too. It was the first time we saw each other in years,” he shared. “In fairness to Heart, she supported me while I was pursuing Liv. She backed me up.”
