The “for sale” sign reportedly displayed outside former President Rodrigo Duterte’s residence in Davao City has been taken down, according to a Super Radyo Davao report aired on dzBB.
By Monday morning, only cardboard standees of Duterte remained visible at the property’s gate. Earlier reports suggested that his common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña, confirmed the house was being sold following Duterte’s arrest and transfer to The Hague in the Netherlands.
However, local volunteers monitoring the house disputed the viral online claims, saying no such sign had ever been put up and labeling the circulating photo as “fake news.”
Duterte is currently detained at the Scheveningen Prison in The Hague, facing charges of crimes against humanity linked to extrajudicial killings during his administration’s controversial war on drugs.
